How is it so hard to realize that self love is the first step to happiness? Why has it taken me so long?
The dictionary states that self love is “The instinct by which one’s actions are directed to the promotion of one’s own welfare it well-being, especially an excessive regard for one’s own advantage.” The second definition for self love is “conceit; vanity” and finally “narcissism.” Why do we feel the need to make people feel guilty for feeling good about themselves? How terrible for someone to wake up and be positive about themselves? Right? Whether that be physically, emotionally, or mentally.
I think self love is knowing your worth and your rights. It’s about getting in touch with yourself. If I had more self love I would also have more confidence . Plus with just a little confidence you can begin to face any fear and accomplish any goal.
Love your body, mind, heart. Love all of your flaws even if they are too much for you to handle at times.
“It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself and to make your happiness a priority. It’s necessary.” – Mandy Hale
